Do you want to become an amazing swimmer like Summer? Then you are in the right place. Here, I will tell you all about Summer's life as an Olympian and how to be a great swimmer like her. Okay, are you ready? Let's get right into it.
Summer started competitive swimming at the age of 8 in Toronto Canada where she was born. She has a sister who is a figure skater, her mom who was an Olympic swimmer (that's where Summer found out she wanted to be a swimmer) and her dad who is really supportive. Wow, she has a pretty talented family. Summer tried to go to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when she was 13 but sadly couldn't make it, and then something terrible happened, COVID arrived and the Olympics were postponed to 2021. And then, the greatest news of all time came, Summer finally qualified for the Olympic trials and made it to the Olympics! She was 14 and she was not the oldest but the youngest swimmer in the Olympics where she got 4th in the 400-meter freestyle; that is amazing, right? That, my friend, is how she became famous.

After Tokyo, she moved to Sarasota, Florida because she was an excellent swimmer and wanted to train harder with kids her age. She trained with the Sarasota sharks and made it to the next Olympics in Paris when she was 17. Summer competed in the 200 individual medley where she almost lost to Alex Walsh from the USA but in the last 30 meters, she caught up. She got three gold medals and one silver. If you want to see her compete, press the button at the end of the page that says video. I hope you learned something new and interesting. In the next section, I will tell you how to start swimming like Summer.
Okay so want to know how to swim as well as Summer? Great! First, you have to learn how to float, then you can start learning the four strokes. Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Freestyle is the fastest. If you want to swim fast you have to start young. You can start swimming one hour a week and start building up. Summer also does dryland and outdoor training. You can't always be in the pool. You also need to work on your technique, you can look up specific drills on YouTube. And if you ever get frustrated just keep calm and try later. Or you can join the Sarasota Sharks and train with Summer😉. You never know, maybe you will be in the Olympics soon.
